When we set out to put together a collaborative work, we wanted it to be an amalgam of volume and spine: a set of diverse illustration styles, giving life to a series of stories by different authors all united by a common theme: magical realism.

Magical realism is a Latin American literary movement, an imaginary feeling that gives everyday life magic, as if it were the most normal thing in the world and allows us to inhabit that world full of animism, so close to the imaginary of children.

But what is an everyday monster? it is easier to explain with an example.

Do you know who hides the keys when you go out? Or do you have any idea what the washing machine does with the socks you eat? Do you know why the sky purrs when it's going to rain? The kind of naive questions that a child might well ask are explained here in a poetic way with text and image metaphors, inviting the reader to remember their inner child and share this pleasant literary experience with the little ones in the house.
